The Internet e-mail
system uses mainly two protocols to send and receive messages; Simplified
Message Transport Protocol (SMTP) and Post Office Protocol (POP3).
Our server speaks these protocols like a native. You can rest
assured that your e-mail system will be fully compatible with the other
e-mail servers of the world.

The ScottNet®
Mail Server is seamlessly integrated with all of the other ScottNet®
system applications, tools, and administrative utilities. Your users
will have a single login for all of their application needs. When they
change their password on the web, it is automatically changed for their e-mail
account too. This both simplifies administration and distributes it to
each user. The net result: your administrative hassles just got a lot
smaller. Additionally, just like other ScottNet®
applications the ScottNet®

Mail Server offers you full customization and features that other systems can

Special Functionality
Anti-Spam -
nearly everyone is getting an ever growing number of unsolicited e-mails
about things they are not interested in. The anti-spam industry is
now a multi-billion dollar industry. There is an electronic war
going on and your e-mail account is in the middle. We use two different
techniques for eliminating SPAM.
Fundamentally, the
current vendors have failed to realize that the perfect anti-spam system
is based upon your address book. Everyone that you speak with wants
to speak with you. It is likely that you would like to speak with
them. The ScottNet®
Mail Server allows a user to configure their account or a specific email
address to deny all messages
from sources that are not registered in their list of contacts.
Don't worry, the ScottNet®
system also automatically allows messages from companies registered in the
users contact manager too. Those who attempt to send a message
without being known first are sent a standard e-mail message indicating
that the intended recipient requires all e-mail senders to register before
their mail will be allowed through. The sender clicks on a link and
registers. Voila, they can now communicate freely with their
intended recipient. Pretty cool eh?
We also use a
sophisticated and dynamic content filter that looks for known SPAM profiles
and eliminates them before they enter your email box. The offender
receives an email indicating that the message was identified as SPAM and
demands the removal of your email address.
Both of these
techniques can be used separately or together. You can set different
settings for each email address you have. There are no limits.

temporary or one-time use e-mail addresses. Using this construct
